«Seventy years ago today (Oct 14, 2025), Harry and Bertha Holt arrived in the U.S. with the eight children they adopted from Korea. Together, they created a path for children who would otherwise grow up in orphanages to instead join loving, permanent families.

Today, we honor and reflect on their legacy while celebrating how far we’ve come. Every year, through the kindness and generosity of sponsors and donors, thousands of children around the world are able to remain in the loving care of their birth families or join adoptive families in their country of birth.

And yet, in countries across the globe, countless children continue to grow up in orphanages. Many of them are older. Many have special medical or developmental needs. For them, we remain committed to finding loving, permanent families through international adoption.

We still believe in the vision of our founders: a world where every child can grow up in a stable, loving home.
